The Comprehensive Edit combines the bulk of the process into one service. Available for completed manuscripts and WIPs.

A comprehensive review of your manuscript with tracked line edits, copy edits, and developmental feedback.
Pass-back as many times as needed (within reason). In case of major revisions, we can discuss the additional rate per word.

Developmental editing concerns the big-picture elements that drive your plot, pacing, and character development.
Line editing involves refinements at the sentence and paragraph levels to make your prose shine. Each word should add value, moving your story forward and bringing your vision to life. This includes (but is not limited to) grammar and syntax, rhythm and pacing, voice, POV, tense, and dialogue.
Copyediting polishes your manuscript to technical perfection, eliminating any distracting inconsistencies that prevent readers from fully immersing. Cafe or café? Stephanie or Stefanie? En dash, em dash, or hyphen?
Please note that this service does not include a final proofread—although I will naturally catch most typos during the process. I offer a final proofreading pass at a discounted rate of $0.008 per word.

The last step in your editing process is a copy edit and proofread. If you’ve reached this stage, congrats—you’re so close!
The Final Pass spots typos, grammatical errors, and technical inconsistencies.

I recommend email communication so you get the most out of the time. However, I understand sometimes you need to talk through things live! I’m available to connect via Zoom or phone if you prefer.

My pricing sits at or below the EFA rates. I believe the world needs more art(!) and I try to stay as affordable as possible. (But I still need to buy coffee.)

Maintaining your voice is my first priority, and I will never make changes without a clear reason. Ultimately, my edits are merely suggestions to inform and empower you to decide what works best for your manuscript.
Creating an immersive reading experience:
To me, the mark of a great book is an all-consuming escape—when the characters and setting stick with me so firmly that I find myself thinking about them long after the last page. But how do writers achieve that? It’s a balancing act between including what matters and removing what distracts. In addition to a gripping story and captivating character arcs, your novel needs purposeful prose and clean copyediting to help your readers get (happily) lost.

This one is simple. I recognize editing is a huge (and exciting!) milestone, but it can be daunting to share your work. I keep my feedback honest, tactful, and actionable, and I always treat your manuscript with the time and respect it deserves.
